The May Issue.
Less buying, more wearing. 6 outfits for the season. What I'm currently craving and two items I've bought from my wishlist.
Less buying, more wearing. My motto for May. I’ve got some great pieces that just don’t get the love they deserve, so I’m trying to be more inventive when it comes to creating outfits instead of rushing out and making new purchases. Buying can often be the easy way out, I used to always buy new for big events or trips as it meant I didn’t have to think about what to wear, just reach for or pack the new purchase. I’ve been so much better in recent years when it comes to adding to my wardrobe, and I truly have a wardrobe I love, but I know I still have pieces that deserve some more attention.
One way I’m doing this is by focusing on one piece; last week, it was my By Malene Birger leather jacket. I figured out how to wear it for the week, making it work for different events and occasions. It makes life easier in the mornings, as you have that one piece in mind to spark an idea instead of staring at your wardrobe with no inspiration. Once you get into the flow of styling one piece, other ideas come to you more freely. I’m going to try this with other pieces in my wardrobe that I’ve become stuck in an outfit rut with.
The White Shirt. I LOVE a white shirt, but I just don’t wear one enough, considering how chic and timeless it is (and how many I own). Be it work, holiday or date night, an oversized white shirt will give me that effortless vibe I crave.
