The August Issue

My unsung hero of summer, the colour combination I'm craving, and what's currently on my shopping list

It’s coming up to a year since I wrote my first issue on Substack, and when I look back to The September Issue, I realise how much these monthly guides have helped me get clarity on my style. A space away from the fast-paced, constant newness and noise to reflect on my wardrobe and taste as they evolve naturally. I repeat myself a lot, and the same products can come up time and time again but that’s what I needed. It’s a true reflection of what is going on in my brain when it comes to style. I feel no pressure with algorithms, engagement or overthinking what I post on Substack and, in turn, have 12 issues that authentically convey how I’m feeling about what I buy and wear with added context. It’s a fashion brain dump of conversations I have with friends, pieces that have caught my eye, screenshots I’ve collected, outfits I’ve seen on people IRL and content that has resonated with me, all in one space. The idea was for you to be able to look back on past issues and take ideas and inspiration months or even a year later. Part of the reason I’ve stuck to the one monthly issue is to slow down- my brain, content, consumption and reflect.
